Selling the art and the crafts

I'm signed up for two art and craft fairs this holiday season. I've got all this stuff- hardly anything on my website or on my Etsy site. I thought this could be a good way to get this inventory into the world and make some money along the way. I've been practicing set-ups for small spaces and finally landed a few options that work.

As I read different art business books, I keep hearing a theory about our relationships with money. Since we hear from when we are young that art doesn't pay the bills. So, artists spend their lifetimes deprogramming this expectation of art and money. Maybe we undervalue our talent. Maybe we just don't put our work in the world. It shows up in many different ways.

I think I still have some of this deprogramming to do myself. I hesitate to get my stuff out there. So, it piles up in my studio. Although it's not a lot of my fine art, I am getting my crafts out there. I used to enjoy craft shows. If these are fun, I'll plan on continuing this avenue to get some art out into the world.
